Academics
The Academics Record Group contains materials related to the academics of the Pingry School. It consists principally of curriculum guides (1940-2010) and college entrance data (1948-1971).
Administration
The Administration Record Group is made up of records related to the administration and finances of the Pingry School from 1869 to the present. These include by-laws, certificates of incorporation, ledgers, stock certificates, various investment documents, and documents pertaining to the Head of School. There is also a collection dedicated to the proposed merger of the Pingry and Kent Place School in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Alumni
The Alumni Record Group includes materials from the alumni and Alumni office of the Pingry School. Materials include directories (1863-2009) and other compiled lists of Pingry alumni ranging from 1883 to 1972.
Arts
The Arts Record Group is made up of artwork, documents, and posters related to theatrical, musical and visual arts at the Pingry School. Materials record plays from the 1900s to the present, student band and choral performances since 1899, various visual art events, and reveal student artwork from the 2000s.
Athletics
The Athletics Record Group contains a variety of objects related to the Athletics Department of the Pingry School including jerseys or other clothing worn by players as well as the sports equipment they used and awards they received. Rosters, schedules, scorebooks, and clippings record the people and places associated with the trials and triumphs of The Pingry School’s athletic pursuits.
Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees Record Group is made up of manuscripts including meeting minutes and financial investment documents, related to the Board of Trustees at the Pingry School.
Buildings, Grounds, and Facilities
The Buildings, Grounds, and Facilities Record Group includes documents, correspondence, memorabilia, and other materials related to the establishment, groundbreaking, construction, and dedication of all Pingry School properties dating back to the 1920s. Photographs, sketches, maps, floor plans, and land purchase documents detail the journey of the Pingry school to fulfill its mission while meeting the needs of modern students.
Ephemera
The Ephemera Record Group is made up of the fashion accessories, scrapbooks, spirit-related items, tableware and miscellaneous other forms of memorabilia made for the Pingry School or by students of the School.
Framed Photographs and Documents
This collection consists of framed materials within the Pingry School Archives. Examples of items include awards (certificates and medals), diplomas, ephemera, faculty and staff photographs, paintings/photographs of campuses, and written letters.
History
The Pingry History Record Group comprises correspondence, histories, reminiscences, and other documents that convey the over 150-year history of the Pingry School. The George Dimock Correspondence Collection served as a major source of information for the 1961 book, “The Beginning of Wisdom: The Story of Pingry School Elizabeth, New Jersey 1861-1961.”
